The Strict Bed Rest

I met a small car accident around a week back.A truck hit the rear of the car ,luckily it was not in much speed and stopped in time.I am grateful to God who saved my life ,however due to the impact I sustained soft tissue injury to my back and neck.
Since then , pain is the new me. The neck and back have been  stiff and straight like a stick .The pain gnwaing and silently killing me.Since then i have been on bed rest.Which is itself a horrible experience.
From my experience I learned a few things which I would like to share:

1) Pain can only be understood if one has felt it.You can never convey it to anyone how much pain you are in if he never had known pain.People will look at you and be satisfied to see no bruises no fever ,nothing to suggest severity.Only people who have suffered pain will be able to understand what you are going through.

2)If you are not okay, admit it that you are not okay. There is no need to try to pull yourself up and act hero while you can't.It will only worsen it.I tried resuming routine work soon after i felt a little better, which just aggravated my condition and prolonged the much dreaded bed rest time.

3)Go see a doctor right away.Never wait for it to get better on its own.

4)In times like these ,when you get a lot of time on your own,you come to new realisations about yourself, appreciate life more and stregnthens your faith. When you realise how worse things could have ended and they did not ,you can not thank God enough .Your faith in God increases.

5)When it starts to hurt to move your neck right and left and you can not walk few steps without your back aching, you realise how many things you take for granted in everday life. With this kind of temporary disability I considered my life to be a hell and yet there are so many people out there with major permanent disabilities acting strong and strruggling to keep moving.Health in itself is the greatest blessing,be thankful for it.All else come secondary.

6)Depression is a monster which comes around to pay visit to you when you are in times like this.Do not open the door for it.Keep a positive prespective whay ever happens.Things will get better soon.

7)Be thankful for people who cheer you up when you are down. They are worth a million.

Anyone who gets to read this please pray for my speedy recovery.
